MAMMA MIA!

I love Christmas time and Cheesecake Factory!! Last night, the roomies and I headed out for dinner and our gift exchange. We had a brilliant time! The food was excellent and so were the presents. We always have a fun time together. I'm so grateful that I have Randah, Susan and Nicolette as my roommates. They are the great and I wouldn't trade them for anyone!

Susan loves her Utes blanket from Randah!

Nico is immensely enjoying her lotion and scarf I got for her

Randah is ecstatic about her cute pajama pants from Nicolette

And I absolutely LOVED my Mamma Mia DVD, although Susan tried to trick me by giving me another DVD wrapped up. Sneaky Sneaky

Once we got home, we decided to open stockings. Everyone was thrilled about their stocking stuffers! Playboy Playing cards, Gandolfo gift card and a truth & dare game... Who could ask for more!!

HOWEVER... I believe I received the greatest gift of the night...

It's a photo of my beloved Joel McHale! It's definitely going in a frame to hang next to my bed. Darn you Joel for being married. DARN YOU!!

You Decide... It's only obvious!

Well Sunday evening, we had our annual gingerbread house contest. The competitors were the girls against the guys. The girls' house is on the right and the boys is on the left. Guess who won...
That's right! The girls dominated with an extremely elegant and beautiful gingerbread house. This is the second year in a row that we've won. Boys, don't mess with us!
Although, the boys added a little haunted house feel to theirs which I really liked.
I thought the snowman's head ripped off with a little blood oozing down the roof was a great touch, but I may be a little biased since I'm a fan of horror movies! All in all, everyone put a lot of effort into the competition and everyone came out winners.
Every year, my cute mom gets everyone an ornament. She is so thoughtful and makes sure each one is personalized in some way. Everyone LOVED their ornaments!

I love spending time with my family and friends, especially during the Christmas season. Everyone just seems to be a little more grateful, loving, and happy.

Skate like the Wind!

Monday night, Nicolette and I went ice skating at the Olympic Oval with the singles ward. After falling a few too many times, I think we finally got the hang of it. Nancy Kerrigan eat your heart out!

Jimi Hendrix would be proud

I'm pretty sure playing Rock Band for 4 days straight has made me a better person, both physically and mentally. I traveled down to Arizona this Thanksgiving to spend some much needed friend time with Jenny, Nolynn and Josh. They picked me up from the airport Wednesday night and as soon as we got to the house, we busted out the Rock band and began rocking until I left on Saturday. In between our jammin sessions, we had Thanksgiving dinner. Which was absolutely delicious! Props to Jenny and her phenomenal cooking skills with a special thanks to her obsession with The Food Network channel. After dinner we continued with our quest to become the greatest "Rock Band" band ever.

Friday morning, we dismissed even the idea of getting up at an unthinkable hour to go shopping and slept in like you're SUPPOSED to do on a day off. We went to an afternoon showing of Twilight. I was a little disappointed in the movie, but it was mildly entertaining and I had some terrific popcorn so I ended up enjoying myself. Afterwards, we went shopping. UGH. I'm not a big shopper, but I desperately needed a pair of jeans so we started our pants pursuit. I found a pair that I LOVE, however they came at a costly price. I've never paid so much for jeans before. I'm hoping they'll bring good fortune my way and get me a hot date!
Saturday, we rocked it up some more and then headed off to the Phoenix Coyotes game. It was my first time at a professional hockey game and I had a blast! It was very exciting, but cold in the arena! We scored some free coyote mittens, which definitely came in handy.
Sunday was a gloomy day as I left sunny Arizona and headed home to Utah. I had a fantastic time spending a few days down there and I will miss my good friends a lot, but I know that I will see them again soon. I was actually excited to get home, see my roommates and start decorating for Christmas! Until next time...

Baby Come Back

Now that I know carbon monoxide alarms going off = Firemen, I don't think i'd mind having the alarms go off every once in awhile. Monday night, as I was making some delicious rice krispie treats, alarms started going off in the house. My first thought was that it was the fire alarms from cooking over the stove. Susan, Nicolette and I immediately started opening up windows and doors to air out the house. After checking the fire detector, we soon realized that the alarms were actually coming from the carbon monoxide detector. Instantly we were on the phones with our dads asking what to do. First response our sweet father's gave us was to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE and call the fire department. After being able to only save one of our precious kitties (Scraggles was scared out of his mind from the alarms and hide inside the couch, so we left him to die...), we gathered together in the driveway. As we stood in the driveway, the most beautiful sight started driving down our street and parked right in front of our house. 5 angels jumped out of the truck to save us. I wasn't able to take a picture of them, but they looked like this...We melted. They made sure we were alright and then quickly ran in the house to detect the level of carbon monoxide. However, we were unaware that you're not supposed to open any windows or doors when your CO detectors go off, you're just to immediately evacutate the area. By opening windows and doors, the outside air will dilute the amount of CO which makes it harder for the hot firemen to get an accurate reading. Which is exactly what happened. The hot firemen couldn't find any readings of carbon monoxide in our house. They determined it was faulty batteries and suggested we replace them. The hot firemen stuck around for a little while afterwards to chit chat about football and "The Big Game" on Saturday with us girls. It turned out to be a pretty awesome night. I am so grateful to be part of a country where service men and women risk their lives daily to protect us. God bless America!

You can congratulate me now... or later...

Children have fears growing up that most eventually overcome with age. But, some people always have these fears with them. Mine was E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Until just 24 hours ago, I was horribly afraid of this little alien ever since I watched the movie when I was younger. I would hallucinate him at night, knowing that he was planning on attack on me with his eerie long glowing finger. Recently, I was at home sick for a few days. While scanning through channels I came across E.T. on tv. At first I hurriedly changed the channel like I always did when I saw the capital letters of the "E" & the "T". But then I thought... I am 23 years old! Why am I still afraid of this movie?? What was so scary about it? I decided to watch it. The entire movie. By myself. I knew it would be difficult, but I wanted to finally get over my long-lived childhood fear. And I did! I watched the complete movie by myself, start to finish. There were times when my heart started racing and I wanted to cover my eyes, but I held strong and finished like a champion. I learned an important lesson that day... E.T. is your friend not an enemy. God Bless E.T.!

Pants Party 2008! AKA Halloween

Halloween this year failed to disappoint. My roommates and I threw a HUGE party at our house Friday night. We estimated about 75-80 people showed up to party their hearts out. We had food, dancing, karaoke and games. Everyone had a brilliant time and the costumes were fantastic! We had voting for best male costume and best female costume. The winners were crowned King Halloween and Queen Halloween. We had such a great time that Halloween has now moved up on my list of favorite holidays. Definitely top 5.
I love bunnies. Poke poke...

The Trekkies

Our good friend Charles the swimming ninja pimp

The Cupid Shuffle. Hollllaaaa!

Randah (as Minnie Mouse) was crowned Queen Halloween and Blaine (as the Joker) was crowned King Halloween.

Until next time.... PEACE

The Dancing Queens

Last night, the roommates and I had the honor of attending the Stake Halloween party. We all dressed up as hobo's. Awesome. Awesome night.

I didn't know this guy, but he had undoubtedly the greatest costume of the night. I just had to get my picture taken with him. He even had a badge that said "vote for Harvey Dent". May the beauty of Batman be with us all...

Keep it Classy Wimer family

Sunday night dinner was Cafe' Rio themed at my parents house. My parents did the whole sha-bang! My mom found the glorious recipe for the sweet pork and the "special" house dressing that Rio has. It was definitely a dinner from the sweet Rio angels in Heaven.
High fives all around.
Although, at the end of the night...
We decided that actually going to Rio and spending $8 was a little easier.

And then it got late... and the masks came out...

Personally, I think we look like a million bucks. I've decided to convert to wearing the glasses full-time. I felt smarter.

Let's be honest, I don't know a single person who wouldn't want a piece of this...

We look ggooooooooddd. I mean REALLY good.

Creepy...

Harry Potter for the 4th year in a row. AWESOME

Last night was our ward Halloween party. Most people dressed up, but there were a few slackers. You know who you are... I decided to be Harry Potter again at the last minute since it's pretty easy to pull together. A little eye liner for my scar, glasses and a t-shirt and I was good to go! The night turned out to be pretty fun.
Halloween twister, donut eating, and limbo contests... What more could you possibly ask for!?
